Four wheeling provides the opportunity to get off the pavement, in to nature and build friendships and family traditions. We host a variety of events ranging from novice level green-laning to challenging local and long distance 4WD adventures that will test your strategy, stamina and skill. Additionally, we organize road trips to other national Land Rover rallies, fall leaf tours, guided weekend fly-fishing and sport shooting retreats, an annual picnic with family camping (a 20+ year tradition), ice driving challenges, car shows, drive-in movie dates and more. All of our trail events are on dedicated private land or state land that is authorized for off road motor sport recreation. We DO NOT condone off trail riding, trespassing on state closed trails or destruction of natural resources. Here are just some of the upcoming MNLR recreational off-roading and social events:

Ice Driving event

Learn to drive your Land Rover on ice from more experienced club members in a controlled close course environment. After you feel confident, test your driving skills through the slalom course, where precision is more important than speed. After a hard days driving, retire to heated accomodation, for the annual Chilli cook off, where fellow members determine the best Chilli of the day. The winner receives the annual chilli cook-off award.

MN4WDA Swop Meet

It has just been annonunced that the 3rd annual MN4WDA Swap Meet will be Saturday April 14th at the Anoka County Fairgrounds in the west parking lot. As in the past swap spaces are free to all current MN4WDA members or $25 to non members. New this year is the 4x4 Show and Shine area. If you have a 4x4 that you want to show off, we have a spot for you. Gates open at 8 AM and admission to the swap meet and show is free!

	Members of the club attend the annual MN4WDA Convention and this is also usually one of our first trips of the year wheeling.

19	Minnesota Scottish Fair and Higland Games
	For the first time this year, members will be bringing their classic Land Rovers to the Scottish Fair and Highland Games at the Dakota County Fair Grounds, Farmington. Apart from the British car and motorcycle show, there will be Highland Games, Celtic dancing, rare Scottish breeds, Scottish items for sales and of course the McCracken's pub.

26-28	Memorial Weekend Event at Dresser WI
	Our fellow Wheeling enthusiasts from the Go 4 Wheelers hold this annual event at the Trollhaugen Ski resort where wheeling enthusiasts get to drive on different courses around the ski resort. This event is ideal for vehicles that have been modified with winches, rocksliders and are lifted. If you are unsure you can make the obstacle, there are bypasses in many places

1-4	Mid West Overland Society Adventure
	The Mid West Overland Society are travelling up to the Black Duck area of Minnesota for 3 days, exploring new trails with scenice rustic camping

16-17	Weekend Wheeling
	Members of the club head up to Gilbert OHV park, to plan out the trails to be used for the annual MNLR Picnic and Rally in August, while at the same time enjoying some wheeling on previously unexplored trails. On the Saturday evening (if we make it out of the park) we head to one of the local restaurants to reflect on the days events.

22	Pool party at the Allton's
	This is a Land Rover show/pool party/pot luck event for the members of the club and their families hosted by the Allton's. Burgers, chicken, bread rolls and sodas will be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert to this event to share

Annual Picnic and Family Camping

This year will mark the 30th year for this fun event for the whole family in Gilbert, Minnesota. Book your camping site at Sherwood Forest Campground. Wheeling will be at the Gilbert Off Road Vehicle Recreation Area, featuring over 30 miles of dedicated recreational trails for use by motorized vehicles. The weekend will include family camping for tents and RVs, a traditional group dinner on Friday night, novice and advanced level day rides, nightly campfires, a potluck dinner on Saturday night, dedication of the coveted "Broken Axle" award, a raffle for great prizes and fun for all.

8	The Pine Patrol Military Vehicle Trail Ride" in WI
	The club has been invited to attend the Red Military Vehicle club event in Wheeler WI, where we will be surrounded by tanks, half tracks and all other types of Military vehciles

	Members of the club bring along classic Land Rovers to the annual classic car show at the event in Wayzata

15	Overland Society Trip to the Superior National Forest
	Join Tony Kieffer and the Overland Society as they explore new trails in the Superior National Forest. Enjoy a campsite meal and sitting under the clear skies gazing upon the stars in perfect tranquility

22-23	Explore the new Mesabi trail in the Iron Range
	This will be the clubs first formal trip to try and complete the newly open Mesabi trail, which promises a tough challenge for even the most robust of Land Rovers

National Land Rover Rally hosted by the Solihull Society in Moab, Utah.

This is the ulitmate Land Rover experience, join members of the MNLR as we drive to Moab Utah, for the annual land Rover National Rally. Drive through some of the most stunning and unspoilt scenary in the USA. The Solihull Society act as guides breaking the over 200 Land Rovers that attend into groups of 10 vehicles. Be amazed as you drive through deserts in the morning, then climb trails which follow the Coloado river, then through Deserts and onto through of the most beautiful National Parks in the USA. There are trails set up for all kinds of vehicles from novices with stock vehicle to old hands with rock crawling mega trucks. In the evening after a day of wheeling attend the cocktail parties, dinner, award ceremonies and trade exhibitions.

	Let's get out of town and really experience those fabulous fall colors. This road tour will originate in the Twin Cities and will likely include some gentle green laning before we reach our destination for dinner. We may try to turn this into a charitable fundraiser. This event will be open to guests and an rsvp will be necessary. We need a host for this event.

Last Trail Ride of the Season

Oh, the end of the season brings such sorrow. Luckily, we have social events right through the winter, so this doesn't have to be a long goodbye. The last ride of the season is planned for the hardy only as we usually encounter snow and ice on the trail. This can prove to be challenging and fun but not for the faint at heart. Vehicle damage and a few late night recovery hours spent on the trail have been legendary. Hoteling it makes it do-able for those wives who detest camping and the kids always like getting rowdy at the pool. This event is for Land Rovers only and is open to guests. More information to come as it becomes available.

	Time to get holly and jolly at the Annual Holiday Party. Unlike most other MNLR scheduled events, this soiree is kid-free. Fabulous food, even more fabulous friends, a traditional gag gift raffle and good times are guaranteed. There is a limit of one guest per member. We need a host for this event.
